Desi Slava – I’m on my own, but I’m strong
- You’re releasing a new hit – how do you find the courage to fight on your own?
- First of all I would like to thank you for qualifying my song as a hit. In fact it has been just released. I hope that indeed the song will become a hit. The competition is strong, there are many young singers fighting for their place. It’s not easy, when you are on your own and you realize that you have to fight alone with everything and for everything. I think I’m strong, I feel that way. I still have it in me, qualities and the talent to keep the love of the audience.
- About the lyrics of “Just Forget It”, is it personal pain and injury that causes that causes the aggression in it?
- The idea for the lyrics arose spontaneously. I wanted something different and not again to go over the same: love, betrayal, although everything in life is about love. One of the ideas was for such lyrics. It’s not so tender, but rather more perky. I wanted for the first song of the album to be more provoking, but still keeping the style Desi Slava. I knew that my fans have been expecting something modern like “You ain’t next to me” and I decided that this is a good way to provoke them. This is much more interesting.
- What are your relations now with Payner?
- My relations with Payner are normal. I talk on the phone with most of my colleagues there, but I had to take this step. Now I feel more responsible. I have to think about many things that never were my responsibility at Payner. Now I can control everything in my work, the way I wanted it to be. My new album will be released in April by my own company New Music.
- Was it difficult, to leave Payner?
- It wasn’t easy. I was a part of this company for six years. You get used to the team, you start to feel them as a part of your life, but my decision was not impulsive.
- Now do you have more free time with your son?
- Yes, I’ve lessen my performances, because I’m preparing my new album. But I don’t spend all of my time in the studio and use my free time to be with him. These are very happy moments for me.
